Jesus, Sweet Savior

Jesus, Sweet Savior, the Lord of all my soul,
To be so much more like you is my one, my only goal.
I know I am not perfect, so the same I cannot be,
But more like you is good enough for a lowly man like me.

So now I pray for guidance as I struggle to succeed,
I only wish to follow you, no matter where you lead.
My spirit longs to be with you forever where you are,
My lowly human body cries and claims it is too far.

Holiest of entities, I cry out to you now,
Forever I will follow you, if you will show me how.
And now, my end is nearing, death is not far away,
I place my faith in you, Lord, that I shall not from you stray.
