"When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless Your heart
I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart
I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
King of endless worth
No one could express
How much You deserve
Though I'm weak and poor
All I have is Yours
Every single breath
I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart
I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus"
ok, so i was upset this morning because i couldnt go to church, on account of my jaw still be very sore... the last two Sundays i didnt get to go either because of work, so i needed to hear a good message... but the biggest reason i wanted to go, was because of our awesome praise and worship band. frustrated as i was, i sifted through my CD collection, and low-and-behold, i found the original SonicFlood album (the bright pink one). i got to the final track, "The Heart of Worship". i just kept repeating the song, over and over, then i had a revelation (im sure most of you already understand the concept, but i forget sometimes).
as i started trying to prepare for this shot, i wanted to have just the right Bible verse shirt on, my neckalce in the right place, my "Live for Him" wristband showing, and all the other stuff that makes a good Christian kid like me "right".
but then i kept hearing a voice, telling me not to worry with all that stuff, that He doesnt care for what im wearing, how i look, or even where i am. so i just got as basic as i could, all the way back to black and white...
i dont need a fancy praise band, loud music, or even a good singing voice to worship. in fact, i dont really even need music at all. all i have to do is get my head (and more importantly my heart) in the right place, and just be with God.
when i get back to that point, where i dont care what is happening around me, and all i want to do is spend time with God, things will certainly start looking up.
just try it sometime, im sure you'll be pleased with the results

i know, you all fainted when you saw me being serious... bu i hope you really get the message

I was just singing that song today to the Lord. What I lacked during the summer was the much needed quiet time and abiding in Christ. I was so numbing it was painful during the whole summer so now I literally feel like I came back to the heart of worship.
There's also a song by Switchfoot, forget the name, but part of it expressed how I was feeling:
"Deeper the cold, what he's far from my soul..."
