Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. 1 Peter 2:12
I suspect that most of the individuals who have religious faith are content with blind faith. They feel no obligation to understand what they believe. They may even wish not to have their beliefs disturbed by thought. But if God in whom they believe created them with intellectual and rational powers, that imposes upon them the duty to try to understand the creed of their religion. Not to do so is to verge on superstition. - Mortimer J. Adler

Just As He Said (Resurrection In Your Daily Life)Just As He Said (Resurrection In Your Daily Life) by CarrierNovels
It is 5:40 PM on Easter Sunday 2014 as I sit down to do this writing project. Over-commercialization and humanity's insatiable desire for money has turned this holiday into a day of marshmallow peeps, chocolate bunnies, and brightly colored eggs, but Christians everywhere do their best to ensure that this day is kept holy and to honor it with their family traditions despite talk of a giant fictional rabbit who sneaks into the homes of children and leaves them candy in little baskets. You see, the true meaning of this holiday is far from fictional and is quite different than the traditional order of events that take place in this world. This holiday begins with death and ends with life.
Jesus Christ was 33 years old when it came time for Him to fulfill the purpose that He was sent to Earth to fulfill. On Good Friday 1,981 years ago, He suffered, bled, and died the death that all of us, being the sinners that we are, deserved to die ourselves. He took our place on the cross

From A Closet of Sin to Hope In Christ"We gays can't help that we're born as we are" I’ve heard it said. We humans can't help that we're born into a fallen world any more that we can help the bullying environment of sin that’s forced onto us. Sin is like a spiritual cancer; that if not dealt with in time, will kill us. Yet in the same instance it’s so pleasing to indulge we don’t even know we’re dying. From A Closet of Sin to Hope In Christ by The1Enchantress
All sin, no matter the form it's in, is addictive, and if we choose to submit to it, it becomes our addiction. And often we find ourselves submitting to it; sometimes purposefully, sometimes without even realizing it till it’s too late.
I will gladly admit that I'm addicted to it just as everyone else is, because I’m human. But because I’m human, because I’m made in the image of Christ, I don’t want to be addicted to sin. I want freedom; I want Christ.
That said, there is a contrast between the LORD’s followers and the followers of the world. The Christian's g

Your words are like daggers that pierce my skin
I see the gleam in your eye, your hope that I will doubt
With my silence you feel that you will win
Mocking my faith isn't enough for you
You have to judge the way I live
You take up your weapon aimed at me anew
I just smile and remember to forgive
I see the smug smile on your face...you think you have won
But in truth your words have made me stronger
Now run along, you've had your fun
I won't listen to you any longer
A poem written about an incident that happened between a co-worker and myself. He calls himself a "realist". I don't have an issue with him...but he makes it very clear he has an issue with me and my family being Christian. He made it a point to mock us....one thing you DO NOT DO is mess with my family. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own belief/opinion...or lack thereof...but why go to the point of mocking and being intolerant? His words just brought a smile to my face and made me
Truth IsTruth is whatever you make it to beTruth Is by GhostDemon915
Truth is whatever makes you feel better about yourself
Truth is just words that causes nothing but pain and no joy
Truth is whatever you make it to be
Multiple truths and little lies
Truth is whatever you believe it is
It's been that way for many years
Why does it matter? Truth is never absolute
Truth is found in songs, television, and art
Truth is praised and preached in a philosophy class
Truth is that God is dead and you can do whatever you want
But in the end, we only confused ourselves
Truth is as Holy Week is about to end, a price was paid before we were born
Truth is in one week, two worlds collided in a way never seen before
Truth is a price was paid through a love that is forever true and unending
Truth is a price was paid when the son of God was beaten and humiliated for us
Truth is that we are just as bad a Judas Iscariot
Even in the small things that we do
But the truth is that because the Son of God died for us, you can have eternal life
The Importance of Prayer: Part 2Prayer without boastingThe Importance of Prayer: Part 2 by FCU777
There is nothing wrong with giving thanks to God or ask something from Him. Unfortunately some of today's churches (and unbelievers) are being too confident with their own righteousness, that they actually praying for selfish intentions, or just praying just to please man, and some to boast. That ain't right. The Book of Isaiah Chapter 64 verse 6 has a lot to say about man's righteousness:
All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
Think about the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector. These two men went to pray, and while they are praying, the Pharisee said: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' (Luke 18:11
The Truth About HomosexualityPLEASE READ ALL!!!!The Truth About Homosexuality by FCU777
First of all....
What is homosexuality? According to the Oxford Dictionaries website, homosexuality is defined as "involving or characterized by sexual attraction between people of same sex." The question may be asked, however, if this is truly all there is to it. Could it be than just "attraction between people of same sex"? Could it be a sin?
Where did it all start? Is homosexuality something that just started in our present age?
Homosexuality is not something that has just started happening recently in the past hundred years. It started with the one thing that separates God and man, sin. Homosexuality was present when sin entered the world, just like every other sin. Records of homosexuality go back to the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, which scholars estimate to have been around 3100 B.C. These two cities were as the borders of Canaan, as they were well watered places (Genesis 10:19, 13:10) before both cities were destroyed with fire and brimstone.
The Importance of Prayer: Part 1"Don't pray when you feel like it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. A man is powerful on his knees." ~ Corrie ten BoomThe Importance of Prayer: Part 1 by FCU777
Each day, people pray. Old and young alike. When they wake up in the morning, before eating their meals, in church, at a wedding and so on.
But there are a few questions here that people ask:
Is prayer important? Is it powerful? Is there any value in prayer?
The answer to all three questions is YES.
Prayer is not only essential and powerful, it is also very valuable, as it is also a mighty weapon against the devil, Satan (Ephesians 6:12). And also the Bible says that we should "Pray without ceasing". But how many of today's churches and Christians are actually doing that today?
Prayer backed with faith
It's good to pray. There is nothing wrong about that. But it is not good enough if prayers are not backed up with faith. Even the Bible says that faith without works is death. There are many things that
Knockin' BootsI cannot believe I just saw an add for "dating site" for married people to have affairs...It saddens me that debauchery and lust have become so commonplace in our society. Just about everything has become sexualized, even shows meant for families have characters that are either hardly wearing anything, wearing an obscene amount of makeup, or acting trashy. Everything has to have some sort of sexuality involved, and what makes it even worse is that it's almost always for a bloody paycheck. Whether it's porn, or cable tv, or cinema, more often than not, you can't go 10 minutes without having to be reminded of the human anatomy. And on top of that, whenever sex is portrayed in the media, it's hardly ever about love as much as it's just knocking boots because either somebody can't keep it in their pants, or because everyone else is doing it, and you'd become a social outcast otherwise. Love, sex and the human body are beautiful, sacred things that ought to be respected if not cherished. IKnockin' Boots by GrubbsWriting
'God is Love' and the TrinityENGLISH:'God is Love' and the Trinity by ll-Bisto-ll
Everybody says that "God is love".
I say, if you don't believe in an eternal, co-existent Holy Trinity,
Implying an eternal Son and an eternal Spirit with the eternal Father,
The phrase would lose some meaning:
All that God is, He ever was, and He ever shall be,
For it is written,
"I the LORD do not change",
"Who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty",
And to Moses He said,
"I Am that I Am".
What the LORD is, He ever was, for He is whom He is.
Would you say God always was Almighty, and always shall be?
I would say it firmly, for it is written,
"By faith we understand the universe was created by the word of God,
So that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible".
Would you say God always knew it all, and always shall know?
I would, with certainty, for it is written,
"Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely".
Now, would you say God will always love us?
Yeah, for it is written,
"Who shall separate us from the love
Finding Faith Through ScienceRocket scientist Jim Bradford says that science has always affirmed his faith.Finding Faith Through Science by Allendra3
Jim sees science as the study of what God made. And he defines science in this way: Science is an endeavor to explore and understand. Scientism is a philosophy that starts by saying that nothing supernatural exists. Jim points out that this viewpoint is unable to answer the question of where the matter and energy came from that supposedly started the Big Bang, according to the theory.
With a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering, among Jim’s many accomplishments is working with Boeing on space shuttles. Up until college he was too shy to do any sort of Christian leadership. But he overcame this during college by inadvertently leading a Christian student group each week. Now, along with his rocket science career he also talks to people about the relationship between science and religion.
According to Jim, this viewpoint that we were not Created is one of despair. It’s saying that you are an
