"The reward of being 'faithful over a few things' is just the same as being 'faithful over many things' ; for the emphasis falls upon the same word; it is the 'faithful' who will enter 'into the joy of their Lord.'"- Charles S. Robinson
I suspect that most of the individuals who have religious faith are content with blind faith. They feel no obligation to understand what they believe. They may even wish not to have their beliefs disturbed by thought. But if God in whom they believe created them with intellectual and rational powers, that imposes upon them the duty to try to understand the creed of their religion. Not to do so is to verge on superstition. - Mortimer J. Adler

We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection

I think most of you can agree that we are living in a generation that's broken and in hopelessness. The whole world in sliding ground with not much strong ground left. This election has become strong ground for some but it's just going to break. There's only 1 foundation that will never break or become weak and that Jesus.
When Jesus died on the cross He toke away all of our sins. Now think about it, ever sin you have ever done and will do were placed on Jesus along with everyone else's sin. There's no one else who would come down from there thown to become one of us, to die for everything we done wrong and will ever do wrong, to love the ones who at first cried "Hosannah! Blessed be the King" to "Crucifie Him!", and after take away our sins He rose from the grave which gave us eternal so we could be with Him. Only He could do that.

Resurrection Power Contest EntryThe cell was cold and dark. Its only occupant, a young and beautiful girl, sat huddled up against the wall. No matter how hard she tried, she could not forget how she had come to be trapped in this forsaken place.Resurrection Power Contest Entry by kaylathehedgehog
A long time ago, the kind and generous king had betrothed her to his one and only son, the prince. The two had fallen in love the moment they first met, but it would be a while before the wedding. Because of her status as the prince's betrothed, she had been granted access to every part of the king's kingdom, but he had specifically warned her not to go beyond the borders of the kingdom.
For a time, the girl was content to just wander the grounds of the castle and the surrounding kingdom, but one day, she met a dark man who had convinced her to explore the area outside of the kingdom. It would become the greatest mistake of her life.
As soon as the girl had stepped outside of the kingdom, she had been captured by the forces of the dark lord and i

Siphiwe's TestimonyI would like everyone to meet my friend, Siphiwe. We've been friends since Bible College 6 years ago, and he really has been a blessing to me. Without Siphiwe I would be, well, closed minded. He has taught me many things, and I've enjoyed seeing things from his perspective. We all need friends like this - friends who don't have the same background we do, friends who have had a very different life than our own. Today, he shared a very, truly, amazing testimony with me. Here is Siphiwe's testimony:
"Well this happened many years ago I would say about ten years ago while I was in High School. I had been suffering from Asthma since childhood and it would be even worse around winter times. My chest would block and I would not be able to breathe. I had to go to the nearby clinic for them to give me oxygen with medicine so that my chest can clear. I also had medicine that I had to keep at home so that I could drink immediately when I felt the symptoms. This
Let Jesus be your Light
Just magine that Jesus is an infinitely powerful electrical energy source and that we are all light bulbs. Jesus said that "I am the Light of the world", and that WE are 'lights' too. What would our homes be like if we left the Light Bulbs on a shelf somewhere.... gathering dust? what would our purpose be in life if we stay in darkness like the rest of the world?
The light goes on because there is the power of the electrical current, which is the Holy Spirit - for Jesus gave us His Holy Spirit when He ascencded into heaven. Without this power there would be no light, even if you ordered it and your son turned the switch…
The Light Bulb, which represents you and me. If the Bulb is not good, there will be no light, even if the power of the electrical current is to high… and the main quality of a good spiritual Light Bulb, of you and me, is humility - to become humble is to glorify Jesus; and to glorify Jesus is to bring far greater light into this world!
so go on.... don't be left on the
To Jasmine (I Could Have Told You)I wish I could have articulated how much God loves you.
I wish I hadn’t been so scared and so shy and so not rooted in the Word that when you called life pointless and you said God hated you and that your so-called Christian parents taught you that, all I could do was listen, nod, try to gently tell you that they were wrong when I should have screamed it.
I should have brought up Bible verses, not as a thumper but a thinker with intentions of help and hope, not just adding another name to the Book of Life, not just a soul in the Kingdom of Heaven, but giving you a new perspective that would make life more optimistic. It is not just the conversion in belief but the change of heart that I should hope for when God is letting me speak His message. But back then I didn’t even know verses well enough to cite one. I could say that God loved you but I didn’t tell you how or why and I mentioned the cross but maybe I didn’t talk about it enough. Maybe I was speaking too m
Wake Up!Wake up, O Laodicea, can't you hear the war trumpets sound?
Don't you see that we're entering the final countdown?
The hourglass is finishing up; please--stop playing around!
The Earth is ripping herself apart, laboring with birth pains;
And yet many of the Lord's people carry on with matters that are vain!
O my soul is shaken, for not much time remains!
We are living in a time of trouble as the world has never seen;
Followers of Christ, purify your hearts; and wash your hands clean!
Please turn away from the deceptions of the devil's smokescreens!
In His great mercy the Lord is giving us His final call,
Showing to us His precious truths, revealing His will to all.
O my brethren, please don't harden your hearts, lest you should fall!
Search His Word! For in the Scriptures are unveiled secrets and new light,
Truths that will enable us to stand in the last spiritual fights.
Walk while it is still day, lest you're overtaken by the night!
Behold He is coming quickly, and with Him
Preaching 36Two things I request of You (Deprive me not before I die): Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches—Feed me with the food allotted to me; Lest I be full and deny You, And say, “Who is the LORD?” Or lest I be poor and steal, And profane the name of my God.
-Proverbs 30:7-9 (NKJV)
“Two things I request of You” the opening of this Proverb is like a prayer and the key word in this part is request. Request is defined as asking politely for something to happen; The original Hebrew for this word is shâ’al which can also mean: inquire, beg, desire, desire earnestly, wish. Desire-a strong feeling of wanting or wishing. Earnestly-sincere and intense conviction. Beg-to ask earnestly and/or humbly for something. Wish-express a strong desire or hope for something that is not easily attainable. This isn’t asking for something and being content with a no or maybe. This pray is laying the heart bare, and is the deepest des
'The Problem of Pain,' ch. 2 (again) "His Omnipotence means power to do all that is intrinsically possible, not to do the intrinsically impossible. You may attribute miracles to him, but not nonsense. This is no limit to his power; if you choose to say 'God can give a creature free will and at the same time withhold free will from it', you have not succeeded in saying anything about God: meaningless combinations of words do not suddenly acquire meaning simply by prefixing to them the two other words 'God can'. It remains true that all things are possible with God, but intrinsic impossibilities are not things but nonentities. It is no more possible for God than for the weakest of God's creatures to carry out both of two mutually exclusive alternatives, not because God's power meets a barrier, but because nonsense remains nonsense even when we talk about God."-- The Problem of Pain, ch. 2
Do To Others As You Would Have God Do To You
"Do to others as you would have them do to you." (Luke 6:31)
Many Christians think of the "golden rule" as a recommendation, but it turns out that it actually is a rule strictly enforced by God, specifically through love. In fact, this is spelled out clearly by Christ.
"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 7:12)
Throughout the gospels, Jesus teaches not to hate or judge and to love and help everyone. These are often called "fluffy verses" because they are so nice and warm, but there's actually much more to these verses and how they tie into the golden rule.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:38)
Notice Chrsit doesn't say "may" or "should" but that we must love one another. Also notice how this is stated as a commandment, not a suggestion. So, treating others with love isn't some fluffy idea bu
FulfillmentThe end of the age- the event of darkness and despair
brought a new beginning; Those present were unaware,
Prophetic Word told of the events as played
while the people could not see the price that was paid.
The Son of the living God- the Son of Man, marked of the world
was cast out and hung upon the tree of shame,
And despite the power that was His to command
He accepted the pain and torment of slaughter as the lamb.
The moment was marked with the tearing of the veil
A massive woven wall to keep the Spirit of a Holy God from burning a sinful man-
Rent top down- freeing a Holy Spirit to roam the world of man
in that moment began the new age on Earth.
The people of the land, did quiver in fear
watching the sun flee the sky,
While the dead abandoned their graves to walk the earth
and the lands trembled as if knowing of this birth.
Despite the Prophetic Word telling of these pass
Music can either be a blessing or a curse to you spiritually. Does the song lift you up, drag you down, or maybe even put you to sleep?
When choosing music, Christians need to think, "Would Jesus listen to this song with me?" and, "Will this song bring me closer to God, or push Him away?" No matter the type of song, we must abide by these standards. Music says more about yourself than you think.
If you're into the cutesy Indie/Folk type of music, there are actually some Christian songs that fall into that genre that are pretty sweet and uplifting. Here are some notable mentions:
Falling in Your Arms Again
Here He Comes
A Thousand Years
A Temple Made of Time
I Love You Anyway
Whether or not a song is appropriate and suitable is between you and God. However,
Fun Song Choices
In this journal I will feature some upbeat/modern songs
that I felt are equally as uplifting as the traditional songs in my previous journals, based on (1) the mood/atmosphere it sets, and (2) quality of the lyrics, both in beauty and in actual substance.
Music cannot and should not be labeled as "good" or "bad"
based on its tempo or instruments used. There are beautiful and uplifting hymns, but there are also slow, 7-verse "snoozers". There are gorgeous contemporary songs that tug at our heartstrings, but there are also loud, shallow, and/or repetitive contemporary songs that can either turn worship into a party, or bore us by repeating the chorus 15 times, stretching a 3-minute song to 8 minutes.
Everyone worships differently,
and a song that brings someone closer to God may not do the same for someone else. What is important is whether or not th
Beware of False Teachers! Now before you watch this video, I'd like to say that I'm one of those people who were deceived by people like Joyce Meyer. I admit, I'm too familiar with the bible yet despite reading and trying to interpret it as best as I could. I have read to be warned against false teachers, but I don't think I was prepared for that. And I don't think I'm the only one who has been deceived by teachers like this. This is just another reason why we should study our bibles so that we know what is truth and what isn't the truth.
Fountainview Academy: Christian Modesty (2)[video]
The point of Christian music is to worship God and bring us closer to God. How is this going to happen if our Christian music is making us bob our heads to the beat in the car or making us jump up and down and/or wiggle around in church or at home?
If a song causes things like that to happen, it's not God at the center, it's the rhythm.
The song may have the most beautiful words ever spoken, but what good does it do if it's not the point of focus?
Godly music should keep God at the center. The reason for you to listen to a Christian song should be because you want to worship God, not for entertainment.
Godly music should make you lift your hands up in the air with tears in your eyes, it's so beautiful. The words pierce into your heart and bring to you a comfort you didn't know a minute ago.
That is what wor
